The Best Offices of August 2018
August wasn’t all about coworking spaces – in fact, we also featured a variety of other workspace types in our #WorkspaceWednesday series that appeal to different businesses. From shared spaces to long term offices, small and medium-sized business have more workspace options than ever before. This article spotlights some of these spaces in different space categories, along with our Space Experts’ insights on which you should consider for your business needs.
1. Shared office on Duxton Hill with 24/7 access
When it comes to convenience, there’s nothing better than a location like Tanjong Pagar. Apart from being one of Singapore’s most fashionable districts, it’s close enough to town and houses a variety of F&B options. This shared office is right on Duxton Hill, accessible via the Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar MRT stations. Tenants have 24/7 access to the building using a secured key card, and can sleep well at night with the assurance of 24/7 CCTV security. If you don’t feel like walking to one of the many cafes nearby, you can also grab great coffee on the ground floor! Even though this is a shared space, you get your own private office within the unit and access to a comfortable meeting room upon request.
Our Recommendation: This office is a great option for businesses looking for a quick setup in a convenient, popular location near town. If you want a quiet, private space with a prestigious business address, then this office is suited for you. This space is ideal for businesses with a headcount of 2-6.

2. Shared space with a gorgeous CBD view
A prime location, a premium building in town, and stunning window view of the CBD – this shared space has it all. Also in the Tanjong Pagar area, this office occupies a high floor with large windows that offer both a great view and generous levels of natural light. Amenities in the building are equally impressive – a sky garden, cafe, pantry, private phone booths, in-house gym and bars for de-stressing after a long day at work. As a tenant in this building, you have access to reception services and breakout spaces. Above all, since the current tenant is exiting the lease, this office is going at a significantly reduced rate of $3,500/month, below the market average of ~$4,000+. What a steal!
Our Recommendation: This space is ideal for businesses who value a prestigious business address, access to plenty of lifestyle amenities, and a great high-floor view in the CBD. The office is ideal for a headcount of 6.

3. Partially-fitted office at the heart of Bukit Timah
While this office may be a classified as a long-term space, this space offers greater flexibility in lease terms – a big bonus for businesses keen on short-term arrangements. Located in Bukit Timah, this space is right opposite King Albert MRT, providing easy access to town and the CBD. Various malls are within walking distance, including Bukit Timah Plaza, Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Beauty World Centre along with more eateries on Cheong Chin Nam Road. The space itself is partially-fitted, requiring only some additional furnishing for the workstations. The office is partitioned into two areas, which can be adapted into manager rooms or meeting rooms as you see fit.
Our Recommendation: Ultimately, this space offers the perfect balance between the convenience of ready-made amenities and control over your own office design. On that note, this office is great for businesses who don’t mind doing some work to shape their space. This space is ideal for businesses with a headcount of 5-8.

4. Bare long-term unit in Singapore Science Park
This office is one of the many available long-term units in an office complex to the West of Singapore. Right in the middle of Singapore Science Park, the building is located only five minutes from the National University of Singapore (NUS) campus, providing plenty of access to research institutions in the area. Ayer Rajah Crescent, the home of startup haven Block 71, is also nearby. Tenants have access to variety of in-house amenities, including a childcare centre, cafe, and food court. Complimentary shuttle services are also available whenever you feel like venturing to other F&B spots nearby. This bare office unit, in particular, is on the second floor and offers plenty of natural sunlight.
Our Recommendation: As a “traditional” office, so to speak, occupying this space requires that your business has reached a stable headcount and doesn’t expect major changes in the next couple of years. Additionally, you value being able to design your space from scratch in order to cement your brand identity. This space is ideal for businesses in the research, tech and/or R&D space with a headcount of 9-14.

5. Luxury coworking space in the CBD
Last but most definitely not least, we have a high-end coworking space to top off our list. It’s no surprise that Inc.com named this space one of “The World’s Coolest Offices.” Located on One George Street, High-end interiors overlook a stunning view of the Singapore skyline. Meeting spaces are available for accommodating as many as 30 attendees, along with a gorgeous lounge space perfect for networking socials and evening cocktails. With an innovative Hot Office membership, you can use credits to book on-demand offices by the hour or day. For this August and September only, this space is offering reduced prices for its private offices. Businesses can rent out one of 3 available office suites, prices starting from as little as S$13,500 a month.
Our Recommendation: This coworking space is perfect for startups and small businesses looking for a professional, corporate vibe. Beyond a prestigious location, this space can offer the aesthetic “wow” factor to impress clients or visitors. This space is ideal for businesses with a headcount of 11-20.

Our #WorkspaceWednesday series for August featured a diverse selection of spaces across different categories. While you might be impressed by the glitz and glam of the coworking space at One George, you should also consider the perks you get at the other locations. The two shared spaces in Tanjong Pagar offer a great location for small teams looking for a quick transition. On the other hand, the long-term offices offer a great opportunity for stable businesses to cement their brand presence. Think carefully about your business needs to decide which space type works best for you. To see the coworking spaces we featured last month, check out our #AwesomeWorkspace recap for August.
